Top Cat was produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions with the first episode airing on September 27th, 1961, the show only lasted a single season of thirty episodes.
Since then there have been a number of TV specials and big screen movies.

Not sure what he’s supposed to be, possibly some kind of futuristic Roman Soldier.
The helmet design was influenced by reading too many Jack Kirby comics (especially his Fourth World titles) and watching old Flash Gordon Serials starring Buster Crabbe.
